Component of silver-indium-cadmium (Ag-In-Cd, 80-15-5 wt%) control rods widely used in PWRs. Thermal absorption (σ_a = 63.3 b) provides sustained reactivity worth. Ag-110m (t₁/₂ = 250 d) is an activation product that can deposit on steam generator surfaces.
