Introduction

Welcome to ReactorMC ("we," "our," or "us"). This privacy policy explains how data is handled when you use our educational website. We are committed to transparency about our practices.

About Our Site

ReactorMC is an educational website that provides guides and tutorials for Monte Carlo neutron transport codes. The site itself is hosted on GitHub Pages as static files. You can read every tutorial, use the reference tools, and browse the Community Library without an account and without giving us any information about yourself.

The site also offers optional signed-in features — the Community Library and the "report an inaccuracy" tool. These are backed by Supabase (a hosted Postgres database with authentication). If you never sign in, this backend stores nothing about you.

Information We Collect

Browsing is anonymous. We do not use analytics services, tracking pixels, or advertising networks, and the only data stored in your browser for an anonymous visit is alocalStorage preference for light/dark theme, which never leaves your device.

If you choose to create an account, we collect and store only what those features need:

• Your email address, or — if you sign in with GitHub — the account identifier and public profile details GitHub provides through OAuth. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth.
• A profile you control (a handle and optional display name).
• Content you submit: input decks you share to the Community Library, comments, ratings, and any inaccuracy reports you file. Shared models and comments are visible to other users.

We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond the hosting providers named below. You can request deletion of your account and its content by contacting us.

Third-Party Hosting

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, pages visited, timestamps) as part of delivering the site to you. This data is governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement. We do not have access to GitHub's server logs for this site.

Signed-in features are hosted by Supabase, which stores account and Community Library data described above and processes it on our behalf. This is governed by Supabase's Privacy Policy. If you sign in with GitHub, that OAuth exchange is additionally governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement linked above.

Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console to understand how the site appears in search results (queries, click-through rates, indexing status). This data is aggregated by Google and does not identify individual users. It is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

ReactorMC itself does not set any cookies. GitHub Pages may set cookies as part of its hosting infrastructure. Your browser's theme preference is stored in localStorage, which is not a cookie and is not transmitted to any server.
